Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Cardly helps you scan paper business cards, review the extracted details, keep contacts on your device, share your own card, and follow up after meetings. This policy explains what information Cardly processes and why.
Cardly is operated as Cardly. Support and privacy questions: connect@blenz.in.
2. Accounts
- You need an account before you scan. Sign-in options are Google, Apple, and email/password, where that option is available on your device.
- Cardly stores a profile tied to your sign-in identity, including your email when the provider supplies it, and an immutable Support ID used when you contact support.
- Email/password accounts may be asked to verify the email address.
3. Your own card
- The text on your own card (name, role, company, phone, email, and similar fields you enter) is stored with your account so it can come back after you reinstall and sign in again. This happens for every account, not only Cardly Pro.
- If you add a profile photo or company logo, those images are stored in cloud storage for your account.
- Business offerings you add are stored with your account so they can be attached to a share link.
4. Contacts and card images
- With cloud backup on, contacts, your card, events, follow-ups, templates, and Reach out files stay with your account. A new phone gets them after sign-in.
- Card photos from a scan stay on the phone that scanned them. Your card’s profile photo and logo, and Reach out files, come back with the account.
- Cardly Pro cloud backup is on by default. You can turn it off in Settings at any time. Turning it off stops new backups.
- Uninstalling the app, clearing app storage, or using Delete all local cards and images removes that local library from the device. Device backups outside Cardly are outside Cardly’s control.
- You can export contacts from the app (for example CSV, vCard, or text). You are responsible for files you export.
5. Sharing your card
When you create a share link, Cardly publishes a page for your own card. Anyone with the link can open it until it expires (currently 30 days). The page can include the card details you chose to share, your logo, selected offerings, and one optional file. Cardly does not publish your scanned contact library on that page.
6. Reach out, files, and templates
- Message templates, events, and follow-ups stay with your account when cloud backup is on, and on this phone when it is off.
- Files you add for Reach out stay with your account when backup is on. A new phone can download the file. The short link sent to a recipient can still expire after about 48 hours.
- Cardly does not send email, WhatsApp, or SMS itself. Reach out opens your own email, WhatsApp, or SMS app with the message and link. Those apps’ terms apply to the send.
7. Scanning and AI
After you accept the in-app disclosure, a scan or gallery import works like this:
- Cardly may crop the photo on your device before upload.
- The card image is sent to a third-party AI processing service through Cardly’s servers so contact details can be extracted. You review and edit the result before saving.
- Cardly does not keep that scan image as a stored file.
- The processed extraction result may be retained in a server-side request record for reliability and request handling, including so a retry of the same scan is not charged again. That record is removed when you delete your account.
- Extraction can be wrong or incomplete. Cardly does not claim perfect accuracy.
8. What Cardly stores on its servers
- Account profile and Support ID
- Your own-card text, profile photo, logo, and business offerings
- Optional Pro cloud backup of your contact library, when backup is on
- Share-link pages and Reach out file links you create
- Subscription status (Apple, Google, and RevenueCat)
- Scan allowance counters, including a device identifier used so the free scan allowance cannot be reset by creating a new account on the same device
- Cached extraction results for a completed scan, as described above
- Technical events needed to run and protect the service (outcome, timing, error category). These events are not your card photo or the contact text
Cardly does not sell personal data and does not show third-party ads. The Android app does not use the advertising ID.
9. Purchases
Cardly Pro is an Apple and/or Google in-app subscription, checked with RevenueCat. The stores process payment. Cardly stores entitlement status so it can unlock Pro features and apply scan allowances.
Free accounts currently include a lifetime scan allowance that is also tied to the device. Pro includes a larger allowance per billing period. The limits shown in the app are the ones enforced.
10. Crash reporting and analytics
Cardly uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to understand stability and product usage. These reports are not meant to include card images, OCR text, or contact field values.
11. Account deletion and local deletion
- Delete account removes your sign-in account and the account records Cardly controls: profile, Support ID, own-card text and images, offerings, cloud backup, entitlements, scan-usage records (including extraction request records), and share-link records. Copied media for those share links is removed with them. Cardly data on the device is cleared only after that server deletion succeeds. If it fails, on-device cards are kept so you can retry.
- A device identifier used for the free scan allowance is kept after account deletion, so a new account on the same device does not reset free scans.
- If you no longer have the app installed, you can request deletion at Account & Data Deletion without reinstalling.
- Delete all local cards and images is separate. It clears the on-device library and does not, by itself, delete your account.
- Some copies can remain for a short time in backups or logs, then drop out under normal operations.
12. Your choices
- Cancel the first-scan disclosure. Cloud extraction does not run until you accept.
- Turn Pro cloud backup off in Settings.
- Sign out, delete your account, or wipe local cards in the app.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple or Google account.
- Email connect@blenz.in with your Support ID.
13. Children
Cardly is for adults using it for professional and networking contacts. It is not directed at children.
14. Changes
Cardly may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page changes when a new version is published.
